SALA DE LECTURA
Hace algunos años, un amigo me alertó de que la revista Pool & Billiards había hecho un artículo de portada sobre las portadas de los cómics de billar. El artículo estaba datado en noviembre de 2015, y llevaba por título: !Colección de cómics¡
"Cómics con nuestro deporte favorito”.
El artículo se centraba en la colección de 52 libros del entusiasta del billar Gary Nelson. Las portadas del Sr. Nelson iban desde Popular Cómics (junio de 1946) hasta Grimm Fairy Tales (febrero de 2013).
Ser lector habitual de cómics y mi pasión por el billar hizo que me enganchara al instante. De hecho, estaba un poco cabreado de que no se me hubiera ocurrido esta gran idea a mí.
No importa, ahí estaban, en total 59 portadas de cómics con billar. Y aunque la Edad de Oro de los cómics fuera hace unas cuantas décadas – finales de 1930 hasta alrededor de 1950- siempre nos quedará la nostalgia y el recuerdo de aquellos tiempos. Porque hoy en día se hacen muy pocos cómics de este tipo –o ninguno- pero quién sabe, quizás algún día resurjan de entre videojuegos, aplicaciones, ebooks y ordenadores.
